The Town Supervisor serves as the Chief Fiscal
Officer of the Town, and is the Custodian of all town moneys -
disbursing them within the limits of the Annual Budget, upon the
direction of the Town Board. She is the Chairperson and a voting
member of the Town Board.
Andrea’s career in Malone
Town Government began in December 1985, serving as Town Clerk,
Receiver of Taxes, Fixed Assets Clerk, Registrar of Vital
Statistics, and Town of Malone IDA secretary/treasurer through
December 1989. During that timeframe she was the regional
director for the NYS Town Clerks Association representing
Clinton, Franklin, Essex and Hamilton counties, and was
instrumental in shaping state legislation, policies and
procedures that impact town clerks state-wide.
From January 1, 1990 through
April 7, 2016 Andrea was the Budget Officer, Bookkeeper, and
Assistant to the Malone Town Supervisor, and as such, was
involved in all aspects of town government. For eight of those
years (1/1/1990 – 12/31/1998) Andrea served as Deputy
Supervisor, and was responsible for all functions of the Town
Supervisor, in his absence.
Andrea’s
retirement in April, 2016, after more than 30 years of service
to the community, was short-lived, as she took office on January
1, 2018, as Malone Town Supervisor! |
